Research Subject: OUT OF BODY (Astral) TRAVEL
See the army/CIA’s remote viewing expert Joe McMoneagle’s explanation of the differences among OOBs, Remote Viewing and Lucid Dreams Here
The academy hopes to eventually offer courses on out of body travel. The academy founder has researched the subject for his novel SONGBIRD: Astral Adventures. His focus has been on “veridical” OBEs. They are experiences where there is verified evidence that the person was actually out of body. Here are some of his videos on the subject:

GRAHAM NICHOLLS
At a Remote Viewers Conference, Graham Nicholls tells David Watkinson about his very important verified OBE.
DR. EBEN ALEXANDER & GRAHAM NICHOLLS
This is a discussion with veteran veridical OBE teacher Graham Nicholls and famous neurosurgeon Dr. Eben Alexander, who had an NDE (Near Death Experience.)
IRENE’S NDE
Here’s testimony from a member of one of the meetups that the screenwriter organized to investigate metaphysics and quantum physics. While out of body during a surgery NDE, the speaker witnessed various events with family members that were later verified to have actually occurred. The veridical evidence discussion starts around the 10:47 mark.
LUIS MINERO
In this 2013 presentation, Luis gives and in-depth explanation of the International Academy of Consciousness, which teaches out of body travel.
THE DIFFERENCES AMONG OOBs, RVs and LUCID DREAMS
Here’s an excerpt from a 2011 email exchange between David Watkinson and one of the most accomplished army/CIA remote viewers Joe McMoneagle:
David:
…Tom Campbell’s description of his OBEs where he left part of his consciousness in his body in order to communicate with Bob Monroe, sounds similar in some ways to the process used by remote viewers. As a result, in my lecture, I said that there are two types of OBEs – the classic type where full or partial consciousness leaves the physical body encased in a subtle body and the kind where full or partial consciousness travels away from both the subtle body and the physical body. So that remote viewing could be considered an example of the latter.
Joe:
Not quite accurate. In RV, you understand exactly where your body is at all times, and at no point is your body where you have put your consciousness. In other words, while you are reporting, you know you are reporting from a place where your body is sitting at a table or lying on a couch and speaking directly to someone. You may even have your eyes open and be drawing specifics about the target, that is where your conscious is currently focused. Your consciousness is wherever it has been focused. So, it is possible to have the perception that your mind is floating around a target, or over a target, or through a target, but you will at the same time understand that your body hasn’t moved from where it is actually located.
In the case of OBE, your mind has the impression that your body was left somewhere else and that you have been totally disconnected from it. You remember where you left your body, and understand very clearly where your consciousness is located at all times. It is possible to be totally aware that you are standing in front of a super-nova star as it is exploding, with the sense that you will be completely vaporized by the force wave when it hits you, and have all the experiences of that that your full senses would provide if you actually were there. You remember that you left your body back on Earth in a bed sleeping and that is a place which you are fully disconnected with except for a very slender silver cord which is sometimes visualized. I, myself, have never seen such a cord, but have felt drawn back to my body as if a cord were attached. In both cases, there is no such thing as partial consciousness.
Within the Lucid Dream state, partial consciousness or a feeling of partial reality is possible. It is also possible to have what is called a false awakening while in a Lucid Dream. That is where one awakens from a Lucid Dream into another Lucid Dream where everything works just as if you woke up and were executing your normal everyday actions. However, eventually you will begin to notice small things which do not fit or which change when you look away and then look back again. You will notice that you are unable to physically interact with the reality you believe you are living. Once that happens, you may then wake up, or again awake into another false awakening. In some experiments we ran at the sleep lab at Stanford University with Steven LaBerge, I had as many as six or seven false awakenings in a single night which was a bit unnerving.
