Applying the Prime Declaration to Animals
How should the Prime Declaration be used as a guide for humans when interacting with animals? The Prime Directive says that advanced spacefaring civilizations must not exploit less evolved civilizations that they encounter. It’s clear that respecting the sovereignty of the less evolved includes not killing and eating them. But eating animals is a large and apparently necessary part of life for many humans. So we need a proposal to clarify the application of the Prime Declaration in the case of animals.
Hopefully, animal loving organizations like TheDoDo.com will weigh in on the issue.

The Prime Declaration and Native Americans
It’s not a matter of sympathy for Native Americans. There are treaties and laws that were broken. So it seems reasonable that these legal matters need to be addressed, as we discuss how to apply the Prime Declaration.
